What Is CBD?
CBD is the most abundant cannabinoid of more than 100 non-intoxicating plant elements in hemp extract. An active plant element with considerable health and wellness potential, CBD’s impressive list of benefits is explained by its ability to interact with receptors of our human endocannabinoid system (ECS).
ECS signaling helps keep crucial functions in our body (and brain) working as they should. Although individual results from supporting ECS function with CBD depend on each person’s unique regulatory system, the use of CBD can help to restore balance (homeostasis) and offer possible health benefits focused on its promotion of a good night’s rest, reduction of inflammation after physical activity, improvement of immune function, and more.
What Is CBD Awareness Day?
We founded National CBD Awareness Day in 2019 as an initiative to highlight some of the many potential benefits of supporting ECS function with hemp-derived cannabinoids. Although statistics published at the time revealed that more than 14% of our adult population had tried CBD, an increase of 7% over the year before, it was clear that consumers still had a lot of concerns, including worries about intoxication.1
Today, more than 33% of US adults have used at least one CBD product. Yet, even as consumers continue to embrace the health and wellness potential of CBD, we still have a lot of work ahead of us. Nearly 90% of our population claims to know about CBD, although many still accept common misconceptions as fact.2
National CBD Awareness Day offers a way to reach out to those most likely to benefit from our products, address their concerns, and provide any information they need to make informed health and wellness decisions about hemp-derived products.
CBD Can Help You Achieve Your Wellness Goals
Today’s consumers are far more interested in natural solutions for common health and wellness concerns than adults of decades past.3 The search for holistic treatments, natural remedies, and plant-sourced alternatives leads a considerable number of people to information about the many potential benefits of hemp-derived CBD.
While most of the evidence supporting CBD use is based on laboratory tests and a small number of clinical trials, numerous reports suggest a wide range of possible benefits. Although individual results can vary, knowing the benefits of using hemp-derived CBD can help you determine whether this natural plant element might help you achieve your wellness goals.
When your hectic schedule shrinks your sleep bank, even minor disturbances can have serious implications. If you’re tired of feeling tired, consider adding a CBD tincture, capsule, drink mix, or gummies to your nightly routine. According to the results of our internal survey, 9 out of 10 respondents report that CBD helps them sleep better. Based on the results of our 2021 sleep study, 72% of participants agreed (somewhat to definitely) that our 600mg Sleep Synergy CBN + CBD Oil Tincture outperformed any other sleep aid they had previously tried.
Mild or Temporary Anxiety
Your body and brain are remarkably sensitive to anything in your environment that makes you feel threatened. The physical and emotional response is the same whether the threat is standing in front of you, recalled from memory, or predicted to occur in the future.4 The same hormones that prepare your body to fight or flee, also cause the physical symptoms associated with anxiety. An impressive 89% of our survey respondents report that CBD helps calm their minds, and 88% tell us that our hemp-derived CBD products help with mild or temporary anxiety.
Stress can take a considerable toll on your overall health and wellbeing, but not everyone experiences the impact of stress-inducing situations in the same way. Some report feeling increasingly overwhelmed or tense, while others experience frequent headaches, digestive disturbances, or difficulty sleeping. Of our nearly 2000 survey participants, 73% prefer CBD over wine to relax and unwind, 76% prefer CBD to alcohol, and 82% tell us they prefer CBD over meditation and yoga (79%), activities often recommended to help calm the impact of stress and promote relaxation.5
Pain & Inflammation After Physical Activity
The tender muscles and joint fatigue many people endure after an intense workout or a hectic day on the job are most often the result of microscopic injuries to muscle fibers. While necessary for building strength and endurance, engaging in similarly intense activities before inflamed tissues heal can cause lasting damage. Of the many participants responding to our survey, 84% report favorable results using CBD for pain, muscle fatigue, and inflammation after physical activity. 90% tell us they prefer the effects of CBD over turmeric, a dietary supplement often used for post-workout recovery.6
